Happy Metallurgist's Day!

Every year, Metallurgist's Day is celebrated in Russia on the third Sunday in July. In 2023, this holiday falls on July 16.

Metallurgy made a significant contribution to the development of our country during the Soviet era, helping to secure victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 1957, the USSR government established a professional holiday—Metallurgist's Day.

The holiday continues to be celebrated today, as metallurgy remains one of the most important branches of industry.
The holiday is important for everyone whose work involves metal: employees of metallurgical and mining and processing plants, as well as teachers and students at specialized educational institutions. It is also a tradition to commission new equipment at plants and congratulate industry veterans on this day. They receive the honorary title of "Honored Metallurgist of Russia," part of the state awards system and awarded with a silver badge.
