The event was held with the support of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the state-owned company Russian Highways.
This year, the National Forum of Infrastructure Companies brought together over 400 participants, including government representatives, clients, contractors, and construction resource suppliers. Participants discussed measures to support the road construction industry and its development prospects in the face of new economic challenges. Key topics included the government's five-year road construction plan for 2023-2027, attracting extra-budgetary funding for promising projects, improving legal regulation of the industry, import substitution, and providing road construction companies with necessary resources.
Speakers at the forum included RSPP President Alexander Shokhin; Director of the Russian Government's Construction Department Mikhail Stepanov; Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Sergei Muzychenko; Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of State Expertise for Pricing Sergei Lakhaev, and others.
Participants noted that the key issue facing the industry today is the prospects for infrastructure development in the broad sense, and the road network in particular. It is important to maintain the pace of construction and retain the unique companies involved in transport construction, which drives the country's economic growth. To increase the pace of infrastructure construction, attracting extra-budgetary funding is essential.
